Crossed Element Static Mixers (CESM)

Some of the most challenging mixing processes in industry involve fluids with significant differences in physical properties. These variations generally include:

• Large differences in flow rate

• Large differences in density

• Large differences in viscosity

For instance, mixing fluids with similar viscosities is considerably easier than mixing fluids with highly different viscosity ranges.

Crossed Element Static Mixers

Under such conditions, CESM (Crossed Element Static Mixers) provide one of the most efficient solutions for achieving rapid, homogeneous, and stable mixing performance.

The operating principle of these mixers is based on continuous flow division in multiple directions and the generation of intersecting flow patterns. This mechanism significantly increases interfacial contact between fluid layers and enables efficient mixing within minimal residence time and reduced mixer length.

Due to the precise geometry and engineered configuration of the elements, Residence Time Distribution (RTD) is significantly improved. At the same time, the mechanical strength of the mixer is enhanced through its robust multi-joint structural design

CESM mixers can be manufactured from a wide range of materials, including stainless steels and super alloys. In addition, the internal elements can be supplied in both welded and removable configurations.
